About Me

My connection with nature started long before LOMWILD. As a child, I was fascinated by wildlife, fish, and the natural world around me. Over the years, that curiosity developed into lifelong passions for fish keeping and nature photography.

LOMWILD grew naturally from those interests.

More Than an Online Fish Store

LOMWILD is not a warehouse, importer, or large scale livestock reseller. It is my small, hands on fishroom business.

I personally raise and care for many of the fish I sell. I condition them, photograph them, prepare them for shipment, and pack each order myself. This allows me to know how my fish have been raised and cared for before they ever reach a customer.

Whenever possible, I focus on breeding and raising fish here in the USA. This provides hobbyists with an alternative to fish that have traveled through international shipping, transshipping facilities, wholesalers, and multiple retailers before reaching their final home.

For me, quality and responsible care are more important than quantity.

Fish Keeping the Natural Way

I have devoted much of my time to the care, breeding, and study of freshwater fish, with a particular interest in bettas, killifish, native species, planted aquariums, and live foods.

My approach emphasizes natural environments, proper nutrition, and thoughtful husbandry. I enjoy creating planted systems that encourage natural behaviors and provide fish with more than simply a container of water.

I am also licensed by the state of Florida to responsibly collect wild fish. This has given me an even greater appreciation for native aquatic ecosystems and the species that inhabit them.

A Passion for the Natural World

Photography gives me another way to share that appreciation. Whether I am photographing wildlife, a quiet stream, or one of the fish in my care, I enjoy capturing the details that are easy to overlook.

Although fish keeping and photography are major parts of my life, LOMWILD is not my full time career. I also work full time in the mental health field and hold a degree in human services. My work has strengthened my sense of compassion, patience, and responsibility for the well being of others. Those values extend naturally to the animals in my care. I believe fish deserve more than simply having their basic needs met. They deserve thoughtful care, proper nutrition, enriching environments, and the opportunity to display their natural behaviors. That compassion is at the heart of how I raise my fish and one of the principles behind LOMWILD.
